Lou Dobbs, a well-known political analyst, passed away at the age of 78.
Dobbs was a controversial personality with an impressive career at CNN and Fox News, especially due to his comments about Barack Obama.
Former President Donald Trump referred to Dobbs as “an incredible talent” and a “friend and truly amazing reporter, journalist, and artist” in his condolence letter posted on Truth Social.
Trump went on, “Lou was special, and he loved our country.”
Prior to transitioning to television in the middle of the 1970s and joining NBC’s King-TV in Seattle, Dobbs began his career at KBLU radio in Arizona. He was one of CNN’s first correspondents and anchored Moneyline, a business news show, in 1980.
Due to the controversy surrounding his coverage of illegal immigration, he left CNN in 2009. From 2010 until the show’s termination in 2021, he hosted “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on Fox Business.
In expressing their condolences, Fox News Media called Dobbs “an amazing businessman with a gift for broadcasting” and recognised his important contributions to cable news. Dobbs’s wife, Debi, and their six kids survive him.
