The lives of the British royals have long been interesting. In the past, events like the discovery of the romance between then-prince Charles and Camilla, Princess Diana’s untimely demise, and Megxit, to name a few, have captivated public attention.
The royal offspring are no exception to the public’s fascination with one of the world’s most powerful families.
Take Princess Charlotte, for example. She is the Prince and Princess of Wales’ second child and only daughter.
Her older brother, Prince George, is second in line to the throne, but she, as the present King’s granddaughter, is unlikely to be a working royal and will need to work for a living, according to royal analysts. This is due to Charles’ desire to trim down the monarchy.
“From what I hear, the Prince and Princess of Wales want Charlotte, aged seven, to grow up with the expectation that she will get a job and not be a full-time royal,” royal expert Richard Eden told the Mirror.
“This path for the young Princess would be in keeping with her grandfather, King Charles III’s, vision for a slimmed-down monarchy.”
Charlotte is a wonderfully unique young woman whose individuality emerges more and more. Many people say that she looks like her late grandmother, Princess Diana, and this likeness appears to be more than just physical. On the contrary, it appears that Charlotte has her grandmother’s kind and loving disposition.
Charlotte donned a crown for the first time on her grandfather’s coronation day. You might question why. The royal tradition, which applies to both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, prohibits royals from wearing crowns until marriage. However, there have been notable exceptions to this rule in the past.
Princess Anne donned tiaras on occasion before marrying Mark Phillips.
“Expect Charlotte in a dainty coronet [small crown]—perhaps even the one the late Queen wore to her father’s coronation aged 10—and the two brothers in frock coats and breeches,” historian Tessa Dunlop told the Mirror.
“Kate loves dressing up her children, so objections are unlikely. And the money shot everyone will want is a snap of the three siblings in their finery alongside the King and the Queen on Buckingham Palace balcony after the service.”
To demonstrate Charlotte’s particular and loving nature, Prince William and Princess Kate shared some of their children’s Mother’s Day cards from past years. However, the youngsters created cards not only for their mother, but also for their late grandma, Princess Diana.
“Dear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day,” Charlotte wrote in her card. “I love you very much. Papa is missing you. Lots of love, Charlotte”.
Meanwhile, George wrote, “Dear Granny Diana,” Happy Mother’s Day. I love you very much and think about you all the time; send lots of love from George.”
2 year old Louis sketched and pasted animals on cards. William has previously spoken openly about his mother, revealing that he speaks sincerely about her in front of his children.
“We have more images of her up around the house now, and we chat about her from time to time. It’s difficult because [Kate] didn’t know her, so she can’t offer that degree of information,” he explained in a 2017 BBC documentary.
“So, I do it regularly, putting George or Charlotte to bed, talking about her, and just trying to remind them that there are two grandmothers; there were two grandmothers in their lives, and so it’s important that they know who she was and that she existed,” William added.
